Welcome Address of the ME’NA-ISN Chairperson
It is a great pleasure and privilege to welcome you all to our ME'NA-ISN Influenza Day aiming to constantly improve scientific excellence in our ME'NA-ISN region.
ME'NA-ISN's vision is to have a world resilient to pandemic influenza and to build a realistic and achievable influenza program and pandemic influenza preparedness and response plans within the region. To this end, ME'NA-ISN's mission is to empower countries to protect their populations against influenza threats.
It also envisions a partnership with and within countries through global and regional initiatives to strengthen national pandemic influenza preparedness and response capacity. The synergy of public-private partnerships, aligned with national policies, strategies and plans, enables the achievement of this objective.
The first ME’NA-ISN Influenza Day was held on September 4th, 2021 as a virtual meeting with the theme of ‘Influenza in the Spotlight’. Internationally renowned panelists shared their experience and knowledge through a very high-level discussion. As a follow-on to this success and in pursuit of our goal, the Organizing Committee has once again prepared an innovative scientific programme to address the latest updates on influenza.
The Influenza Day will include oral presentations as well as dialogues and response to inquiries from prominent regional and international experts.
The Influenza Day agenda has evolved to be more interactive, allowing everyone to actively participate in most sessions of the convention, that the participants will share a variety of perspectives and experiences on “How best to address influenza challenges at a country level”.
During the Influenza Day, ME'NA-ISN will offer many opportunities to network around influenza. Last but not least, we would like to take this opportunity to urge you to become an active member of ME'NA-ISN. We look forward to meeting you all in person in October 2022 in Istanbul!
